From Ottawa to Tokyo: A Tech Enthusiast's Odyssey

Hey there! I'm Jeff Zhao, the newest face at Scurid. From the snowy landscapes of Ottawa to the bustling streets of Japan, my tech journey has been nothing short of exhilarating. I was always interested in how multiple different domains can synergise into something more powerful, and have an interest in becoming a full-stack engineer in every sense of the word. Hold your stereotypes however, because I don’t even drink coffee!

Joining Scurid was an easy decision for me. It offered a full-stack position that allowed me to stretch my creative thinking muscles and gain hands-on experience across a spectrum of domains, from embedded software to cloud databases. What's truly compelling is Scurid's keen understanding of the market's pain points and their expertise in IoT security to address these challenges.

Needless to say, I was immediately attracted to the stance Scurid took in how they positioned themselves in the industry. I always believed that advancements in technology would always be constrained by the need for smaller, faster devices, so for me it was always obvious that IoT devices would be commonplace in the future, regardless of whether everyone is navigating the Metaverse, or if AI takes over our world. With that in mind, the security of these devices needs to be top-notch. It's a challenge that demands a unified platform offering visibility for all registered devices, plug-and-play simplicity, scalability, ironclad security, and adaptability. And here comes Scurid, swooping in like a superhero.

At Scurid, I'm leveraging my background in app development, DevOps, and team management to contribute to the official release of our service. I'm working on implementing new features to enhance user experience and constantly improving our current system to boost efficiency. Additionally, I'm expanding my knowledge in areas like databases, APIs, and other cloud production architectures that have always piqued my interest but were previously unexplored. Beyond tech, I'm also serving as a technical liaison for the business team, using my fluency in Japanese to connect with potential customers and researchers.
